CM A. Revanth Reddy urges industrialists to partner with Telangana Young India Skill University, ET Government

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the newly established Telangana Young India Skill University will be promoted as a role model for the country.

The CM announced that the University Board has been entrusted with the responsibility of promoting Skill University as the best institution in the country. The Chief Minister called upon the industrialists and blue chip companies to join as partners in the university and provide training to hone the skills and help the youth to get jobs.

The government already allotted 150 acres of land and earmarked ₹100 crore for the university, the Chief minister said appealing to the industrialists to become partners and create a corpus fund for the complete management of the institution. The industrialists are requested to come forward and construct buildings on the university campus. The companies and donors who contributed for the construction of the buildings will be named after them, he said.

Reddy said that the government executed the idea of the establishment of the skill university at a fast pace and henceforth the University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra is given the responsibility of the management of the institution. The government is confident that the university will get its own brand image in the country under the leadership of the noted industrialist Anand Mahindra who already made his own mark in the field of skill development.

Now, the government will pay special focus on the establishment of the Young India Sports University which is coming up on a sprawling area of around 200 acres. The sports university will provide training to the enthusiastic athletes with an aim to win gold medals for the country in the 2028 Olympics. The Chief Minister urged the industrialists to take part in the development of the sports university also, CM Revanth Reddy after a meeting with the Telangana Young India Skill University Board along with the representatives of industries and companies from various sectors.

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister D Sridhar Babu, University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra, co-chairman Srini Raju, Board Members P. Devaiah, Suchitra Ella, Satish Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary to Government Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to CM Seshadri, CM’s Special Secretary Ajith Reddy and other senior officers participated in this meeting. Board members Manish Sabharwal, Sanjeev Bikchandani, MM Murugappan, Dr KP Krishnan participated in the meeting through video conference.

The CM assured that there is no dearth of funds and the government is ready to spend ₹1,000 crore, out of ₹3 lakh crore state annual budget, to promote sports. The chief minister asserted that financial assistance is not more important. The CM appealed to the industrialists and business honchos to extend their cooperation, join as partners and take the reasonability for the establishment of the sports university.

The CM shared his idea of the establishment of the Skill University and his future plans with the board, industrialists from various sectors and representatives of different companies.

Explaining the key points about the Skill University to the industrialists, state IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu said the state government is working hard to promote Hyderabad city as a world-class destination for investments. As part of this, the government decided to set up a new Future City and also envisaged plans for the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) city. New courses will be introduced soon under the guidance of the CM in the Skill University.

University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra hailed CM Revanth Reddy on floating the idea of the establishment of the Skill University to produce skilled youth from Telangana to the world. The chief minister is a highly competent leader and his vision is commendable, Anand Mahindra said it is the reason for him to accept the responsibility of taking the charge as the University Board Chairman on the CM’s request. The governments used to give top priority to subsidies and attractive schemes. CM Revanth Reddy showed his vision by giving importance to provide skill development for jobs, Anand Mahindra said Telangana already has the largest US consulate and most people go to America from here. He is confident that Telangana will also emerge as a destination for providing skilled youth to the world. The Chairman wished the CM’s dream will come true and the ambition will also be fulfilled.

Skill University to offer courses from next month
The University Board decided the newly established Young India Skill University will start teaching the courses from this year. The Board announced that the courses will be started in October after the Dasara festival. The classes will be started in the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) on a temporary basis. The courses in Healthcare, Commerce and Logistics will be launched first. Apollo, AIG, Lenskart, Flipkart, Amazon, All Cargo, Pro Connect and O9 Solutions companies came forward to offer courses and conduct classes. The board also decided to provide training to 2,000 students in the first year.
